SKAMOL - Calsium Silicate Isolation Blocks

The SKAMOL SUPER calcium silicate slabs cover a range of extremely lightweight insulating slabs with excellent insulating value, high mechanical strength and good heat resistance. The slabs are designed for maximum service temperatures of 1000°C (1832°F) or 1100°C (2012°F), are light grey and have smooth, rigid and non-dusting surfaces. The product composition allows for easy cutting of derivatives on site, using ordinary woodworking tools. Special shapes, machined to customer specification, can be supplied for specific design requirements.

Application

Skamolex Calsium silicate boards are designed for application as back-up insulation off all refractory constructions,firebricks, insulating firebricks, plastic refractories ext. The combination of high performance features makes the range of calsium silicate slabs the ideal choice for efficient insulation of kilns, furnaces, ovens, stoves, bilers, regenerators, mains and other combustion equipment in heat consuming industries.

SKAMOL Moler insulating bricks and blocks include a wide range of grades in various combinations of bulk density, mechanical strength and thermal conductivity. Moler bricks and blocks are fired and are designed for a maximum service temperature of 900°C (1652°F) to 1000°C (1832°F) The range of SKAMOL Moler insulating bricks and blocks is characterized by their excellent insulating properties, high mechanical strength, low weight, and increasing strength at rising temperatures. Heat expansion and contraction factors are negligible resulting in high resistance to thermal shock. For a porous material Moler bricks and blocks offer low permeability to gases and are capable of withstanding mild acid attacks. An outstanding feature is the high content of amorphous silica accounting for an increased viscosity being induced into attacking slags or melts. HIPOR, HIPOROS and POROS bricks have got low thermal conductivity and good mechanical resistance. Low thermal capacity, creeping resistance and thermal expansion. SM-65 are light bricks which have got good isolation property and resistance. BF and BB-blocks are huge blocks which have got low density resistance and good isolation properties. They are designed for esay and economic usega.SUPRA, LR-1750 class bricks have got natural porousity, high resistance and isolation properties. LR series is ideal bricks for furnaces which works with their low contents of sulfur and nicel alloys.

SKAMOL ISOLATION MORTARS and CASTABLES

M-11, M-20, FL-06, FL-13 

Moler aggregate is a lightweight material, chemically inert and remarkable for its very good insulating properties.The granulated free-flowing loose-fill insulating material is derived from fired SKAMOL Moler bricks, which are crushed, sieved and balanced to specified gradings. Three standard gradings are available: Due to its free-flowing properties SKAMOL Moler aggregates are ideally suitable as a loose-fill insulation for furnace cavities and double-skin linings, over arched roofs and in open joints, leveling of furnace bottoms and hearths.

M-11 A heat setting mortar mix for joint filling in non-loadbearing Moler brick-work, mainly of the lighter brick grades.  Back-up insulation up to  900C. 

ML-20.  The all-round mortar for jointing of all Moler brick grades at dry state in furnace and chimney work, whether load bearing or non-loadbearing. Combined air and heat setting. 

FL-06 An insulating refractory mortar for jointing of all Moler bricks at dry state (in particular the heavier grades), SKAMOLEX Vermucilite bricks, Group 20 insulating firebricks, and for fixing SKAMOLEX block Insulation.

FL-13 The universal refractory mortar developed for jointing of Moler bricks at dry state as well as insulating firebricks and dense refractories. 

Skamol Isolated Casting Mortars and Gunning Casting isolation mortars and gunnings can be used with casting sprays. So it can be used easily, faster and economic.

SKAMOCAST, SKAMOLITE, VERMICAST

Monolithic heat insulation can be used in certain circumstances as an alternative to bricks and slabs and is often advantageous because of quick, efficient and economical installation.

The range of Skamol insulating castables include products for casting, ramming and gunning suitable for back-up insulation and hot-face uses. The products are based on fired Moler aggregates, refractory materials or exfoliated vermiculite.

They are designed for a maximum temperature in the range of 850°C (1562F) to 1100C (2012F) in various combinations of bulk density, thermal conductivity and compressive strength. Skamol insulating castables are used for hot-face application or back-up insulation in all types of industrial kilns and furnaces, boilers, chimneys and flues. Being non-wetting to molten aluminium metal and due to their good bath resistance the Vermicast grades are favoured as infill in aluminium reduction cell cathodes. 

SKAMOLITE: Is used for moderate temperature, monolithic heat insulation linings, back-up or exposed, in all types of industrial kilns and furnaces, boilers, chimneys and flues, etc.The physical properties of the castable permit its use as a construction material for moderate loads.

Vermiculite Isolating Bricks

Up to 1150 C hot surface and back up isolation.

V-1100, VIP-12 Skamolex V1100 and VIP-12 has got superb isolation properties. They very light products that shows high resistance on high temperatures. They superb heat isolaiton properties up to 1100 – 1150 C.Because of combination of high resistance and low thermal conductivity, they have resistance to thermal shocks. 

Blocks can be easily shaped and applied. Vermiculit blocks have lots of alternatives with their density, isolation properties and compressive strength. V1100 (375), V-1100(475), v1100(600) Vermiculit VIP-12 presents high resistance and supern isolation properties all together.

All vermiculite blocks can be cutted by hand tools. We can make special shaped materials with order. With pressured mold system we can produce different shaped pieces and different  densties.

Application Areas: 

Skamolex V-1100 and VIP-12 are a Vermiculite based, high temperature insulating slab designed for hot face application and back-up insulation up to max. 1100 C It They wont decompose even when subjected directly to flame.Derivativ cut from standards or specially moulded shapes are made to order. Precision moulding ensures smooth non- dusting surfaces and clean edges and permit manufacture t close dimensional tolerances. V-1100 is applicable for hot-face application or back-up insulation of all refractory constructions in furnace work. İt doesnt give permission liquid aluminum,criyolit and florit penetration. So that they are prefered in aluminum sector. Further it is widely applicable as insulation in a variety of heating appliances,e.g. Woodburners,fire-places,boilers and night storage heaters. VIP-12 is specially developed as a cryolite resistant refractory insulating slab for intermediate insulation in reduction cell cathodes between the carbon and the more vulnerable bottom insulation. VIP-12 will cause penetrating bath substances to stop and solidify due to chemical reactions that transform the low-melting mixture of sodium fluoride and aluminium fluoride into a solid mixture of magnesium fluorides and silicates of sodium and aluminium (nepheline).

Special Shaped Products:

Skamol Insulation manufacture a wide range of high temperature insulation products, including a large variety og precision-moulded complex shapes based on Vermiculite. Designed to meet spesific customer requirements, moulded Vermiculite shapes are ideally suited for insulation of domestic heating aplliances, such as night storage heaters, woodburning stoves, fire places, domestic boilers and various coking appliances. The products are also used in other high temperature industries, e.g. in the primary aluminum industry.  

Vermiculit Bricks:

They are bricks which is vermiculit based, perfect isolation properties and resistance to temperature. They are used up to 1100°C. 
Their densities : 375 and 475 kg/m3
